Magallanes unions sign agreement to develop green hydrogen industry

27/9/24

Representatives of the hydrogen and its derivatives and construction guilds in Magallanes signed a collaboration agreement, with the aim of exchanging information, establish communication channels and collaborate for the sustainable development of the green hydrogen industry in the region.

The Trade Association of Producers of Green Hydrogen and its derivatives in the Magallanes Region (H2V Magallanes) and the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC) Magallanes formalized the agreement that will be materialized -among other actions- in working committees, talks and joint seminars.

From H2V Magallanes we emphasize that sharing experiences and working together is key to boost the industry. As a guild we want to promote collaborative work and the CChC is undoubtedly an engine for further progress. We are sure that this new alliance will allow us to build together a hydrogen hub from Magallanes to the world.

Meanwhile, the president of the CChC Magallanes, Cristóbal Bascuñán, stated that "we will work together with H2V Magallanes so that the investments of green hydrogen projects can be carried out, complying with all the requirements and evaluations, in an adequate time. We hope to collaborate to reduce the so-called 'permitology', the excessive obstacles that unfortunately today afflict projects that seek to change the energy matrix of our region".

The meeting was attended by the national president of the CChC, Alfredo Echavarría, who emphasized that "all the collaboration agreements that we make as a Chamber with different associations that are promoting investments are absolutely essential and of mutual benefit. In this case, we know that there is a very powerful opportunity for the country, which can place us at the forefront of global investment in terms of green hydrogen. The collaboration between the Chamber and H2V Magallanes will benefit Magallanes, its inhabitants and also those of the whole country".
