On Thursday, March 30 was officially launched the new Trade Association of Green Hydrogen Producers and its derivatives of Magallanes (H2V Magallanes AG), created by five companies that have green hydrogen projects in the region at different stages of development: EDF Chile, EDF Renewables, HIF Global, TEG Chile and Total Eren.

The Board of Directors of H2V Magallanes AG was formed by Juan José Gana, Vice President of Strategic Development at HIF, as President; Antoine Liane, General Manager of Total Eren Chile, as Vice President; José Margozzini, General Manager of TEG Chile, as Treasurer; and Joan Leal, CEO of EDF Chile, as Secretary.

The main focus of the guild is to encourage the green hydrogen industry and its derivatives to strengthen the economic and social growth of Magallanes in a sustainable manner; promote the formation of human capital and local technical capabilities; generate synergies and harmonious development with other productive activities in the region and facilitate the energy transition and decarbonization through projects that generate shared value for communities, establishing guidelines for good practices in social and environmental matters.

Governor Jorge Flies, who was present at the official launching together with other regional authorities, celebrated the realization of this event, due to its importance for Magallanes.

Corfo's Regional Director, María José Navajas, indicated that "from the beginning, the relationship with the companies that make up this association has been very good. We have been able to count on their vision and work within the Regional Transforms Program: Green Hydrogen Magallanes, through which, it is intended to channel most of the public and private efforts of the region, with the purpose that the arrival of this new industry is good for the companies and mainly, for the region and its citizenship".

Enap's General Manager, Julio Friedmann, who also participated in the activity, invited the members of the association to "reach public-private agreements for the habilitation and use of port infrastructures necessary for the development of the H2V industry".
