The Trade Association H2V Magallanes, together with the Chilean Chamber of Construction Magallanes, committed to generate actions to enhance the technical and professional development in the region, understanding that for the deployment and operation of the green hydrogen industry and its derivatives it is essential to have qualified people with knowledge in the various links of the production value chain.
Mario Marchese, Chairman of the Board of H2V Magallanes, highlighted the collaboration agreement signed last September with the Chilean Chamber of Construction of Magallanes, aimed at exchanging information, establishing communication channels and collaborating for the sustainable development of the green hydrogen industry and its derivatives in the region.
He stated that through this agreement it is important to define concrete actions for both associations to contribute to the development of the industry at a regional level. He said that the need has been detected to support the formation and training of the human resources that will be required for the implementation of the H2V industry.
Omar Vargas, Past President of the CChC Magallanes, agreed on the importance of generating information and knowledge to project the infrastructure works that will enable the future industry and, in turn, improve the quality of life of the people of Magallanes and support the development of the region.
The CChC, through its Intermediate Technical Organization for Training (OTIC) is promoting the pilot program Regional Talent Route Green Hydrogen, to evaluate and review the gaps of workers in the region and students who are being trained in technical-vocational high schools and that in the future will work in the construction and operation of plants that will shape the H2V industry.
Diego Diaz, president of the Energy Commission CChC Magallanes, said that the chapter on green hydrogen and its derivatives will be key for the Commission, since together with H2V Magallanes a series of relevant activities will be carried out. The emphasis will be on identifying gaps in areas such as personnel, labor, technical specifications and certifications.
He added that "we will begin to prepare the construction sector to face the challenges that the green hydrogen industry will bring, in order to guarantee the management capacity and the necessary work to meet the demands that may arise".
