H2V Magallanes discussed with four ministries the importance of installing key infrastructure for the future industry

26/3/24

Representatives of the six projects that make up H2V Magallanes met at the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications in Santiago, together with authorities of this portfolio, headed by Minister Juan Carlos Muñoz, as well as the Ministers of Economy, Development and Tourism, Nicolas Grau; Energy, Diego Pardow, and the Director of Planning of Public Works, Danilo Nunez, to discuss the installation of key infrastructure for the future development of the hydrogen industry and its derivatives in the region of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica.

This series of technical meetings is part of the work plan framed in the signing of the public-private cooperation protocol, made official last December 15, in Punta Arenas, with the presence of President Gabriel Boric.

"As a guild we were very satisfied with this first working meeting with high authorities of relevant ministries. We were able to address at an early stage aspects that will be critical to solve in terms of road logistics and maritime concessions, both for our projects on the mainland and Tierra del Fuego Island, being proactive as an industry, to collaborate and move forward," said the General Manager of H2V Magallanes, María Isabel Muñoz Antonin.

These dialogues are part of the ongoing collaboration required between the public and private sectors to advance in concrete measures to promote the development of this new industry in Magallanes. As H2V Magallanes we are convinced that the hydrogen industry promotes the transformation of our energy matrix, and also contributes to mitigate the effects of climate change and improve the quality of life in the region.

The Magallanes Association of Green Hydrogen Producers and its derivatives (H2V Magallanes AG) groups EDF Chile, EDF Renewables, HIF Chile, HNH Energy, TEG Chile and TotalEnergies H2, companies developing Green Hydrogen projects and its derivatives in Magallanes.
