H2V Magallanes highlights the contribution of the Green Hydrogen Action Plan 2023-2030

25/4/24

The projects that make up the Association of Producers of Green Hydrogen and its derivatives of Magallanes highlight the publication of the Green Hydrogen Action Plan 2023-2030, which integrates in its revised version the actions aimed at facilitating the takeoff of the Green Hydrogen industry.

The document was delivered to the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, by the Ministers of Finance, Mario Marcel, and Energy, Diego Pardow.

The General Manager of H2V Magallanes, María Isabel Muñoz, highlighted that this new roadmap prioritizes the actions and measures to be developed during this decade. She highlighted that "in line with one of our commitments for the development of human capacities - within the framework of the Magallanes Pact - we highlight the impulse given in this Action Plan to the installation of electrolyzer equipment for Technical-Professional high schools in our Region, in order to ensure a practical and early teaching of the electrolysis process and the operation of electrolyzers. On the other hand, the awarding of a tender for the reinforcement of the Mardones Pier in Punta Arenas, thus increasing the current logistic capacities available for the disembarkation of equipment and supplies for the industry".

The guild appreciates that, as part of a State policy, in this 2024-2026 window, the guidelines and conditions that allow the development of the industry are established, defining environmental, social and labor standards, and progressively investment mechanisms, strengthening critical institutions, moving towards a more efficient permitting system and in line with the level demanded by an energy industry and the projects under development".

The plan was articulated from expert work but also from a participatory process, including citizen workshops, an Interministerial Roundtable, a Consultative Council and a Strategic Committee, where H2V Magallanes actively participated to contribute to the modeling and improvement of this guideline document.
