Consorcio Austral joins H2V Magallanes, strengthening the Trade Association

30/4/24

Punta Arenas, April 30, 2024. H2V Magallanes announced the incorporation of the company Consorcio Austral as a new member of this trade association.

"We are very pleased with the arrival of a new member to our association. Not only do we continue to grow, but H2V Magallanes is strengthened, adding the expertise of Consorcio Austral, whose team has more than 15 years of experience in the development of wind projects in the center-south of Chile. Our warmest welcome to Patricia Palacios, who from now on will be part of the Board of Directors, contributing with her vast professional experience and recognized executive capacity", said María Isabel Muñoz, General Manager of H2V Magallanes.

Consorcio Austral was created under the umbrella of Consorcio Eólico, a developer of wind projects in southern Chile since 2008. In the Region of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica it will promote two initiatives: the Acuario project, in the commune of San Gregorio, and the Sagitario project, in Tierra del Fuego. Each will have an installed capacity of 2,500 MW of wind energy, and an annual production capacity of 240,000 tons of green hydrogen to produce one million tons of green ammonia per year.

Patricia Palacios, Executive Director of Consorcio Austral, stated that "we are prepared to contribute significantly to green hydrogen and its derivatives initiatives in the region. Our goal is to leverage our accumulated capabilities and knowledge to drive decarbonization and promote a more sustainable future for Magallanes, Chile and the world".

H2V Magallanes AG currently comprises seven companies with projects at different stages of development in the region: Consorcio Austral, EDF Chile, EDF Renewables, HIF Chile, HNH Energy, TEG Chile and TotalEnergies H2.
